Title |
Precept of Clare Constat by James, Earl of Mortoun, Lord Dalkeytht, addressed to Alexander Mur, Patrick Coldane, Alexander Deray and William Crumbie (?), his bailies in that part, for infefting John Colden (1) as heir of John Colden, great-grandson of John Colden, father of the grantee, in (a) a piece of land with pertinents commonly called the Seriand-hauch, lying in the territory or lordship of Dalkeytht, on the south side of the town thereof, between the yards (ortisina) or crofts of the husbandmen on the north and the Water of Southesk on the south, and (b) a piece of land commonly called Joppis-aker, with its pertinents, lying within the said lordship, on the south side of the Water of Esk, between the land commonly called the Beirhauch on the west and the land of Swynefurde on the east; and (2) as heir to the said John Colden, who was heir of the late Hugh Colden, in (a) two husbandlands, with field land (terra campester) tofts and crofts lying in the town and territory foresaid on the south side of the High Street (magnus vicus) therof, viz:- one husbandland between the husband-tenement of Agnes Twedy on the east and the husband-tenement of the said Hugh Colden on the west, and the other lying at the west end of said town, between the cottage-tenement of the late David Cokar on the east and the common vennel on the west, (b) a husbandland, with its tofts crofts and pertinents, lying on the south side of the high street of the foresaid town, between the tenement of the said Hugh Colden on the east and the tenement of the late Mr. Alexander Giffert on the west, (c) an acre of land containing a but in Beirhauch, one in Suenfurde, one in Sprettygair, one in Stanelaw, one in Meirbut, one in Vemp and one in Lonheid, with pertinents, lying "ryndall" in the town and territory foresaid, between the land of Thomas Giffert on the west and the land of the heirs of John Twedy on the east.
