Title |
Letter of Procuratory (in the vernacular) by Androw Spittall, son of Wylliem Spittall of Luquhlyt, cessioner and assigney of Johnne Hammiltoun, son and heir of the late Elezabeth Broun of Colstoun, constituting Wylliem Kent and Robert Gourlay, his procurators for warning James Schaw, son and heir of the late Alexander Schaw of Sauchy, to compear on 4th May next in St. Ninanis Isle in the parish church of Clakmannon in order to receive the sum of 100 merks contained in a letter of reversion granted by the late James Schaw of Sauchy, knight, "guidschir" of the said James Schaw, to the late Williem Broune of Colstoun, for redemption of the lands of Gareynker lying in the regality of Dunfermling and sheriffdom of Clakmannon. They were also to pass to tho said church on the said date and there after reading the letter of assignation, instrument of warning and premonition and letter of reversion to deliver to Schaw the said sum of money. The seal of the said Wylliem Spittall of Luquhyt, procured by the granter who had no proper seal of his own, is impressed on wax on the paper. Apparently, a fess between an eagle displayed in chief and two crescents in base. |
