Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of John Perye, presbyter of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, following upon and narrating a precept under the testimony of the Great Seal of Queen Mary (dated at St. Andrews 15th October 1546) addressed to the sheriff and bailies of Linlythqw and to James Hammilton, Thomas Nicoll and John Jak, sheriffs of Linlythqw in that part, for infefting James Hammiltoun of Kincavill in the lands of Levinstoun, Covsland, Staneburn, Brech and the dominical lands of Levinstoun with the peill and mill thereof, lying in the barony of Levinstoun and sheriffdom of Linlithqw, which the Queen, with consent of James, Earl of Arran, Lord Hamilton, protector and governor of the kingdom, has disponed to him; the said dominical lands, peill and mill having been resigned by the said James Hammilton into the hands of the governor of St. Andrews.
