Title |
Instrument of Sasine under the hand of Bartholomew Kello, Master of Arts, clerk of the diocese of St. Andrews, notary public, following upon and narrating a precept from the royal chancery (dated at Edinburght 2nd September a.r. 20 (1533)), addressed to the sheriff and his bailies of Lynlichqw, for infefting James Leirmonth as heir of Agnes Levinstoun, his mother, in the one-third part of the lands of the barony of Levingstoun with their pertinents (excepting the chemes, ward, manys and mill with their pertinents) lying in the bailiary of Linlithgow; and commanding them to take security for the ferms of said lands which were in the King's hands for the past 14 years by reason of ward and which at £15 per annum extends to £210. Sasine given by James Hammyltoun of Kyncavill, sheriff principal of Linlichqw to the said James Leirmonth. Done at the dwelling-house of George Craik on said lands |
