Description |
(1) Letter to William Meadows, Edinburgh, regarding Meadows' desire to join Col. Cuningham's (Cuninghame) command, and discussing the relative merits of service in the Austrian and Turkish armies besides the French "who are not Christians". Berwick-upon-Tweed, 6 April 1799. (2) Letter to Lt.Col. Cuningham, Guernsey, relating how he had been captured by the French privateer "L'Anacreon" (Capt. Blancheman) and of his escape in Bergen harbour. London, 18 June 1799. (3) Letter to Lt.-Col. Cuningham, officer commanding, asking to be relieved of his position as acting Quartermaster. Gibraltar, 1 February 1800. (4) Letter to Lt.Col. Cuninghame, officer commanding, stating that he has no wish to resume the situation of acting Quartermaster. 15 March 1800. (5) Letter to Lt.Col. Cuningham claiming bat money and a reply promising to find out the general practice. Gibraltar, 31 October 1800. (6) Letter to Lt.Col. Cuningham giving reasons for his claim for `bat and blanket' allowance and other expenses incurred when he took over Lt.Col. Cuningham's company. Gibraltar, 20 November 1800. |
