Letters and papers relating to John Duncan, minister of Ardrossan: (1) Copy of a letter from John Duncan to William Brown, writer in Kilmarnock, refusing to accept Col. Cuninghame's price for his beir and giving his reasons. 23 March 1805. (2) Receipt by John Duncan in favour of John Cuninghame of Caddell for the sum of £56 18s. 6 3/4d. stipend for 1804. Dated 27 May 1805. (3) Copy of summons of suspension raised at the instance of John Wilson, tenant of Lochwood, and Brig.Gen. James Dunlop of Dunlop regarding payment of teinds to John Duncan. Dated 5 February and 3 April 1806, with execution, dated 12 April 1806. (4) Receipt by John Duncan in favour of Col. Cuninghame, of his stipend from the lands of Caddell for 1805 according to the interim decreet of locality. (5) Letter from John Duncan to Col. Cuninghame of Caddell regarding the interim decreet of locality for his stipend and enclosing 2 letters from John Irving, the common agent, on the same subject. 14 May 1806. (6) Letter as above commending a letter [copy enclosed] from John Irving regarding the allocation of John Duncan's augmented stipend. 31 October 1806. (7) Receipt by John Duncan in favour of Col. Cuninghame for his stipend for 1806 according to interim decreet of locality. Dated 27 January 1807. |
