Description |
Dated at Edinburgh, London, Glencoe. 1725, October 1. Expressing annoyance on hearing that James Fisher in Inveraray, "after having made himself by the good bargain of Lochowside woods a ritch man," has begun to buy in "old clampers" against the writer's interest. Demands that a full inquiry should be made into the matter.

With an undated letter from Barcaldine, re debt due to writer and his father by Breadalbane, and proposed setting of the tacks of Netherlorne to Breadalbane's "Kyndly men and natives ... as long as they pay as good a rent as others and the rather that he [Breadalbane] is not stated in that country as he is in any other pairt of his estate where I am perswaded there is not half a dozen men at present that would follow him upon an occasion [except] his Chamberlain and pyper. |
