Description |
1731, 1735. Dated at Balechinain Seil, Craignook. 1731, January 18. Explaining in some detail his financial difficulties over the repair of his house, which he is using to relieve the heritors of the need of building a manse; that the money [£200 Scots] promised by the Earl has not been forthcoming, and that the writer is therefore in dire financial straits; and asks recipient to intervene in his favour.
1735, October 23. Wishes recipient's support, apparently in his desire to be presented as minister of Glenorchy. [John McVean was presented to the kirk of Glenorchy by the Earl of Breadalbane in November, 1735. See 'Fasti' Vol. 4 p. 87] |
