Description |
Dated at Ardmady, etc. 1730, February 5. Enclosing letter [not now extant] from the Earl [ of Breadalbane] to be forwarded to the Minister of Lesmore. "... I understand by it that the Commissioners have sent to London to the Earl to know his mind before any settlement be made of this countrey ..." Also discusses the position of the McIlvuys, apparently tenants in Ballegrundale. From Clachan.
1733, March 19. Asking recipient for a loan of a thousand merks to help pay off his sister's patrimony.
1735, February 2. "... I find there has been nothing in the story talked over the countrey about L. Monzie, at least John Campbell mentions nothing out in his letters to me which I am sure he would do were it true ..."
" ... I am ordered to receive proposales for Seil, and Luing too ... I wish therefor you would spurr up John Corries and Blaricherine for Seile [ as for Luing it must take a stand for a while] ..."
1735, February 15. Intimating that the court has found in Culdairs' favour in the case about the forest. Discusses the marches thereby settled [in and around Finglenbeg], and the chances of an appeal against the decision succeeding; and other estate matters.
1735, March 21. Regarding a new project to make the estate of Lismore yield £5 sterling per acre; and other estate matters.
1736, March 18. "Inveraw has absolutely bought Barbreck and Polduich from the earl," and discussing the matter.
