Description |
Dated at Ballegrundall, Kilmaluag 1736, March 22. Complains of conduct of Robert Man, formerly schoolmaster for the Society on Lismore, who cheated bearer of letter, Malcolm MacColl' out of his money by a moonlight flitting; the 'sillie villain' is now employed by the Society at Bun Ranoch in parish of Fortingale; asks Barcaldine to get a horning against him.
1738, July 7. Intends to hold a Communion service Sabbath next, asks Barcaldine for the loan of his two cups and flagon, ' there being none in this isle ', urges that Barcaldine should be present on this occasion, 'for we are posting to the grave where there's no work, no device, no knowledge nor repentance and to make our appearance befor the great God with whom there is no respect of persone'.
1739, May 28. Re building of a manse; has appointed a meeting of heritors at Teycharnan on the strath of Appin 'a place as centrical for you as I could reasonably think of'. |
