Dated at Inveraray. 1696, August 19. 'When Mr. Duncan Robertson your coosin became shirrefclark heir he got all the registers of the shyre that Nicoll Yuill had, and your coosin removed (?them); he putt all plenishing papers and registers in the Castle of Castle Lauchlan wher they as yet remaine. And if my Lord Argyle were applyed seriouslie he wold give orders to the present shirrefclark to sease upon the registers and papers belonging to the shyre'.
1696, September 22. Sends a chopin of treacle and 1 oz. cinnamon. There are no herring nearer than the foot of Loch Long, about the Carrick, and that, meantime, they cost 10s. scots per 100.
1699, October 18. To Barcaldine, or, in his absence, to Andrew Chrystie in Castle Keylchurne. A glazier is available, but he wishes first to know how much work there is to do, and how many feet of glass will be needed. |
