1698, November 4. Edinburgh. Believes that Breadalbane has changed his opinion of recipient, and that if he goes to meet him at Inveraray, he will be given a kinder reception than formerly, though this may not continue for long; encloses a list of new privy councillors.
1700, November 25. Barcaldine. "I'm affraid the people of Achinryre and Innerargan will not be gott to fall to the bridge being they are busie as all the country is at pleughing ...."
[1701] Re financial dispute with "Lady Killmun" and her daughter. "It is a strange thing to see how money mulders away and one knows not how .."
1711, July 6. Encloses a letter to Barcaldine from Achallader about his possession of Sron Mellachan, 'what John means by this willfull humour is more than I can understand for I see no visible advantage he has by that tack that is worth the contest with the Earle and put himself to such extremities for it'
