`Our colonel is getting quite well now. Bathing was the first thing that he found doe him good, he has no pain and always eat and drank as well as ever and notwithstanding he was falling of that he was that weake that he could not goe about. There is a kinde of stuff they call usquebaugh made up in small bottles each contains about three gills sold at four shillings each bottle, they say its the best thing that ever was found for the gout and for giving an appetite ... This country is in a sade confusion just now ...their was a man shote the other night upon the street, they are every day killing one another out through the country' Dated at Belfast. |
