1799, July 20. Urges recipient to do what he can for Barcaldine's interest, as he himself `is so weak in body and mind as he says himself, that he cannot attend to business and those who act for him must just do the best they can for his advantage and give him as little trouble as possible consulting him'.
1799, November 23. On Fasnacloich's proposal to build a march dyke between his lands and Ellerick.
1800, December 4. Authorises recipient to distribute money to the people on Barcaldine's estates; the late Alexander Campbell of Barcaldine having contributed towards the relief of the poor in Edinburgh last winter, this was reported in the newspapers and made his own people complain that nothing was done for them; enquires if a survey of part of the estate done by Langlands can be found; states that he intends to engage Reid to undertake a survey of the whole estate.
1801, March 12. On claim of Peter McIntyre, Ardachy, to farm of Auchinrear.
1801, September 30. Enquires what should be done with the late Barcaldine's two sons presently at Callander school, `the schoolmaster writes that Patrick seems inclined to the army and that James understands bookkeeping etc. and would do for business'.
1808, March 7. Expresses surprise that so small a part of the rents of 1806 and none of the rents of 1807 should be remitted; demands an immediate explanation
