14 April 1830. Has been to Wentworth and seen Lord Melton's pony, a wolf and panther and several other things stuffed, some black swans, 2 ostriches, pheasants and goldfish, as well as the mausoleum of the Marquis of Rockingham.
(1832, January 25.) `The MacDougalls did not invite me to York this winter, even if they had invited of course I would not have gone; she gave a very lame excuse - guess what it was - the measles were in York'
