Description |
1827, February 17. As he is to live in the neighbourhood of Glasgow, he will need a large dog; asks if Barcaldine knows where he can find a handsome Newfoundland dog.
1832, October 22. Has heard Mr. Cobbet speak, and was very indignant to hear him assert that `Mr. Poulter, a prebend of Winchester, changed his living with the Bishop of Winchester on account of some cheat ... Although he [Cobbett], seems to feel so much for the poor - one would think that being the case, he would distribute the money so collected for their use - Add to this, I find he has carried full £500 out of the city of Glasgow'.
