(1811) July 17. Gives details of his qualifications as a schoolteacher; `my pupils I always consider entitled to every indulgence that could reasonably be granted to them at home, they dine at our table and pass whatever hours they choose in our society and if their age admits of it they are introduced to the neighbouring families... The terms are 100 guineas per an'.
1811, September 1. Peter Campbell, Barcaldine's brother has arrived, but has little knowledge of latin.
1812, June 13. Complains of Peter's conduct in staying out after dark, which is forbidden, not coming home till between 10 and 11 at night; unless this ceases, he will be unable to keep Peter longer
