Description |
1832, July 16. Has been appointed sheriff substitute at Inveraray, through recommendation of Mr. Campbell of Islay; the previous holder of this office, Duncan Campbell, is still clerk of supply and clerk to the Road Trustees, and, although he has not yet resigned these offices, another candidate, John Campbell, Craignuir, has started to canvass the country prematurely; requests Barcaldine's support in the event of a vacancy, or at least not to pledge himself to another until the vacancy occurs.
1833, March 12. Announces that a parcel of printed papers sent to Barcaldine but re-delivered to writer, has been sent again with Mr. Miller, the bookseller from Oban
