Description |
1817, January 2. Is horrified by debts upon his estate; for the sake of his wife must sell enough to clear these, 'You will forgive me for saying that I consider your Cousin, John Archibald Campbell as a very dangerous person, and have no manner of doubt that he has made your difficulties turn to his own advantage. I have been at great pains to investigate his Character, and believe he is a person of no integrity. As to his father I understand his affairs are in the most desperate situation'. Dated at Ruchill |
