Description |
1828, March 6. Has chosen a bonnet and a cap for dress for Betsy, her sister, Barcaldine's wife; 'she will think them dear but they are f Mrs. Johnston, 52 North Castle Street, a first rate artiste - the bo 5 guineas - the cap 4½ guineas - and I bid her send the account with discount marked in case you wished to pay her. She has some as high as 14 guineas, and sober I have been employing her.'
(1828), March 15. Has written to Betsy about governesses; and has entered into terms with Miss Park, a niece of Mungo Park, who is well recommended; and she is willing to go for 40 guineas, 'but being on 20, and not a proficient in music, I could not venture to engage her
