'This castle which I admired so much when I first saw it becomes much more beautiful by its being inhabited and a great deal more magnificent furniture in it ... the staircase is covered with black and stone colour, the drawing room carpet with squares of black and oak like the floor. There are many beautiful cabinets and elegant tables of most beautiful woods, Kingswood, tulipwood, etc. etc. They are all very kind to us, the young ladies sweet girls'
