1806, March 18. Announces David Dale's death, (17 March 1806).
[1808], August 20. Sunny Bank. Condoles with recipient on premature death of her son, Johnny.
(1811, November). Recipient's Edinburgh house is swarming with rats; wishes to know whether poison or a rat catcher should be employed.
(1812), November 20. Picardy Place. Arabella and writer enjoyed their stay at Braxfield with the Owens; 'I never saw a finer family of children than Mrs. Owen's, and so well brought up, all so obliging and kind, their mother has great credit I do think of them. Mr Owen is a clever man, and seems much respected by all the great neighbours near Lanark'.
