Description |
Nearly all undated. Including some helpful notes; 'If you wish to succeed with a woman either in the honourable way or otherwise, the way is to gain her confidence first by your assiduities and never alarm her suspicion until you find her fond of you', how to tell the age of a horse by its teeth; notes on leadmine at Clifton; with an anonymous letter, signed 'Verax', professing to be written by one with 20 years' experience of marriage, warning someone against the attentions of a certain West Indian, whose real notion of marriage is that of taking a woman into keeping, 'with a licence for so doing'. |
