1788?, February 25. Mrs. McDiarmid has received another offer the same as writer's, 'it seems the high and over many offers makes her very nice ... It is a sort of war to obtain good land in these times ... Had Mrs. McDiarmid been of good memory she would give it to me as soon as to any Stewart in Appin'.
