Description |
1784, August 1. Sends a collar 'which I am very sensible is far from being so nicely done as the London ones but it being the first I ever made was not so alert at the business, but whatever faults it has you'll be so good as let me know and shall endeavour to rectify them in the next as you'll find it convenient to have two of them and I have just as much of the stuff as will make another'.
1784, September 21. Asks Barcaldine's advice on how she can earn her living, 'I dare to say you feel for us and must be exceeding sensible what a helpless situation women are in who have nothing of their own to depend on. Be ashured of our industry and frugality so that I trust in God you shall come by no loss in assisting us'
