Description |
24 December 1798. Parish of Ardchattan needs a schoolmaster to succeed Donald Turner, wishes Barcaldine to recommend writer's son, Sanders who can teach gaelic and is at present at Glasgow and (as he writes, in an enclosed letter to his father,)learning book keeping, English grammar and an English pronouncing dictionary, 'which I will find a litle impuzling ... My Master I am Certain according to his pains towards making me perspicuous in my Progress he will give me Sufficient Credentials for my Conduct, Capacities and behaviour' Dated at Ferlochan. |
