1783, October 11. Announces death of writer's wife.
1784, September 17. Has got 'a tolerable hansom Tomb Stone' cut for his wife, and proposes to put arms or crest of Barcaldine family upon it; wishes directions how to get it properly executed, 'You'll no doubt say this is vanity - my being a stranger here is the cause of the above request'
