Description |
Nearly all relating to Barcaldine's legal affairs.
'You Sir stand in a situation of all others the most humiliating-accused by the woman whose protector you had vowed to be and the mother of your children, of cruelty, disrespect and the most unaccountable outrage of temper and in the most unmanly manner loading her at times with the most opprobrious language - add to this your denying her the ordinary comforts of life suitable to your condition for a course of years - while you most unaccountably at the same time accuse her of extravagance' (27 October 1797)
