Description |
1775, October 8. Wishes to hear details of quarrel between James, recipient's brother, and Lochbuy.
1776, August 27. Quotes a letter from Charles Cameron, writer's brother, 6 July 1776, from Staten Island, with an account of their relations fighting in America.
1780, April 29. Does not know what to suggest they can do about Hugh.
17 August 1784. 'I am obliged to you for your Congratulation on the near prospect of the restoration of the Estate of Lochiell; I have no doubt but the Restoration of the whole Estates will give pleasure to every benevolent Mind whether connected or not'.
1784, December 31. Thinks it a pity that 'so honourable a young man' as Hugh, recipient's brother, should not pay his debts in full.
5 April 1788. Announces marriage last night of writer's daughter Jean, to Mr. McNiel of Barra, a very genteel young man, who has made a very handsome settlement on her if she survives him, £200 annually and £300 for furniture.
1792, May 15. Thanks Barcaldine for congratulations on his second marriage.
13 October 1796. Has found little benefit by his visit to the Strath Piffer Wells in Ross-shire
Dated at Fassfern, Fort William. |
