Has asked Alexander McIntyre, joiner, for the prices of scrutoires; one entirely of mahogany 5 gns; one of mahogany with the boxes of wainscot £4.10s., sufficiently mounted; one of Virginia walnut tree £4; one of scots walnut tree, £4.15s; however, the very best mounting will cost more than any of these, and elm will not answer at all for it will not glue and it casts.
