24 September 1747 o.s. Ousterhout. 'Let me know when you was at Edinburgh and how Miss B. does or if she has a great many visiters or if a gentle(man) with a broken nose from Flanders woo'd have any room amongst the crowd and with as broken a heart as any of them'.
