Dated at Ach(insicallan). 27 December 1776. Hinting that I must pay for the stampt paper to writ you a bond appears most ridiculous to me ... I am still resolved not to let the money out of the house till I receive that bond bearing interest from the 9th curt ... where you are to find the stampt paper is not my bussnes to enquire'.
1781, December 26. 'I am at a loss how to behave with our friend Invernahyle. Not withstanding of his fair promises and of his letter in your keeping, the devill a farthing I have got yet'.
