Description |
2 February 1764. Edinburgh. Is learning the guitar, but has not yet fixed on a drawing master.
13 March, 1764. Wishes more money; realises that Glenure will be surprised at a demand so soon, but explains that she has got all the clothes she needs while in town, except little trifles.
11 January, 1766. Edinburgh. Has heard that the eldest son of John Gream of Duchray, 'as fine a youn lade as you could see', has been drowned, 'lost on the ise', and another poor lad of the name of Campbell has cut his own throat.
14 April, 1766. Does not doubt that Glenure has heard of 'Hugh Macclean Ardgores going wrong in the head'.
n.d. Achmore. 'Poor Ewen', (her husband) is ill of a fever although the doctor says he is in no danger.
