Has heard from Breadalbane, promising Glenure's son, Pettie, farm of Succoth at the Breach, in return for Glenure's interest at ensuing election.
July 16.
With a scroll answer, refusing the offer; did not think that such an offer was ever intended, 'so that I may say I have by ways and means been forced from his Lordship's banner, where my natural inclinations always inclined me to inlist myself with all the force I cou'd bring to support his cause'. |
