Description |
1760, 1762. Dated at Inveraray. Assures Glenure that his name will be on the list of Justices of the Peace for the shire, although he resides out of it, (1760)
1762, February 17. Levenside.
Wishes to dissuade Glenure from making one Peter Ferrol, a servant to Mr. Campbell at Tayindrom, (arrested for wearing a blanket or covering of a bed of black and white colours, which 'was never deem'd a party coulour'd Highland dress or tartan since I remember anything',) enlist in the army, as method of recruiting in Glenure's part of the country 'has made rather too much noise for some time past'. |
