Title |
Instrument narrating that at a sheriff court of Renfrew held at the Cross of Pennold in Kilbarchan by Robert Sempile of Foulwood, sheriff depute, compeared Robert of Brakandrig and John Sperk his procurator, and accused Robert Gilhagy and Thomas Alansoun for spoliation of an ox from the lands of Arthurlye, but William of Cunyngham of the Craganys as claiming to have a tack from the said John Sperk of the lands of Arthurlye, confessed he had ordered the said persons to take the said ox for his duty and mail of the said lands and declared that the said John Sperk had no right to the said lands because of his resignation. The court found that the said John Sperk had no right, that the said William as having right foresaid, & the said two persons accused had done no wrong in taking the said ox, and decerned that Brakandrig should pay a fine for wrongful prosecution.
