Title |
The desyir of Alexander Cwmyng (sic) of Cragannis "cravit be him of nobill and potent lord James "Erle of Glencarne, Lord Kilmauris, and offeris "maid be the said Alexander to his Lordschip for "granting therof as eftir followis" - First, Alexander acknowledges that he and his predecessors "ar liniallie descendit of the said nobill lordis "house and of his lordschip's bluid" and earnestly craves "to be reput and haldin of his lordschip as "ane speciall member and dependar therof"; and as dispute has arisen between them regarding the lands of Manniswray, etc. Alexander offers to increase by 1000 merks the price of reversion, if the Earl will allow him to remain possessor, superseding redemption during Alexander's lifetime; and he craves a feu-charter thereof to him and heirs male to be begotten with Elizabeth Cwnynghame, his spouse, at £20 of yearly duty. Failing this, Alexander offers to dispone the lands of Drummis, if the Earl will discharge the reversion upon Manniswray, etc. |
