Title |
Contract of Marriage between John McDowell of Logan and Jean Crawford, spouses, and Elizabeth Corrie her lawful daughter on the one part, and Uchtred Campbell of Arie on the other part, whereby Campbell is to marry Elizabeth and infeft her for life in the 40/- lands of Knokbrek and 2 merklands of Knoknane, with the quarter of the mill of Galdinoch, all in the parish of Kirkcum, reserving to Marion Kennedy, mother to the said Uchtred Campbell, the liferent of Knokbrek and to Euphame McCulloch his guiddame her liferent of Knoknane and the quarter of the mill; during which reservations Uchtred is to infeft Elizabeth in the 40/- lands of Arie and to assign to her a tack made to the deceast Alexander Campbell of Arie, father of the said Uchtred of the 40/- lands of Dowloch. Tocher 3000 merks to be paid by assigning a contract dated at Maybole, 13 Nov. 1606 between John Kennedy of Girvan Mains, with consent of Annie Kennedy, his spouse on the one part and the said Jean Crawford and Elizabeth Corrie on the other part, whereby he was to infeft them in the £5 lands of Girvan Mains under reversion of 1650 merks. Jean now assigns this contract to Elizabeth Corrie and with her husband contributes a further 1000 merks; containing precept, to William McCulloch of Myrtoun |
