Title |
Contract at St. John's Chapell, between John Kennedy of Grenane in Galloway on the one part and Patrick McDowell in Freuch on the other part, whereby Patrick pays 3500 merks Scots to John who dispones to Patrick without reversion and to Margaret McDowell, lady Freuch, his spouse and their heirs, whom failing the heirs of Patrick, whom failing James McDowell, 2nd son of the said Margaret, the 2 merkland of Creauchtis in the parish of Glenluce to be held blench, paying 3d. and the usual feu maills to the Earl of Cassillis, and by way of warrandice John agrees to infeft Patrick in the 26/- land of McKill Pigmanoch in the barony of Kinhilt and parish of Inche, and because Ninian Adair of Kinhilt gave infeftment to the deceast Anthone Adair, his son and his heirs male in the said lands of Pigmanoch by reason of which Patrick Adair, brother to the said Anthone or some other son of Ninian has apparent right thereto, John Kennedy binds himself to procure the said Patrick or other son of Ninian to be infeft in Creauchtis at their perfect age and thereafter resign the same in favour of McDowell and his spouse and to make free the said lands of Creauchtis of a wadset of 400 merks which John McDowell in Dunduf has upon them |
