Title |
Crown Charter of Resignation in favour of John McCulloch of Barholm grandson of the deceast John McCulloch of Barholm, of the following lands - the lands of Larg, viz. - 2 merkland of Larg, 2 merkland of Ballachannamre and Knockeane 2 merkland of Fellend in the parish of Kirkmabrick belonging in heredity to Nicol Donaldson of Larg, held of the Bishop of Dunblane as Dean of the Chaper Royal;- the one merkland of Falbae and the one merkland of Cucrouchie in parish of Kirkmabrick belonging in heredity to Andrew Dunbar of Falbae and then to John Haliday in Glen held by them of the said Dean; the one merkland of Carse and its fishing, the one merkland of Chapelmark and stallages of Torry of Cree, the common mill of the Barony of Cree and the ferry boat near the mansion of Cassincarie called Balhagie which had belonged to Major William Muir of Cassincarie, held of the Crown in place of the Dean;- the 8 merkland of Wodside and Calside alias Slaikis in the parish of Anwith which had belonged to Robert Johnston of Kelton held of the Crown;- the 40/- lands of Camret in the parish of Kirkmabrik which belonged to Thomas Gourlay of Camret, held of the Crown, together with the patronage of that church and its teinds which belonged to Samuel Maxwell of Newlaw, held of the Crown;- the 2½ merkland of Balmae possessed by Gilbert Callie and a 16/8d. land of the said 2½ merkland of Balmae formerly occupied by Adam Chrystie and a 16/8d. land thereof belonging to late Robert McClellan of Nuntoun which lands of Balmae had formerly belonged to Gilbert McQuhen of Netherthrid held of the Crown in place of the Bishop;- also the 40/- land of Auchinfad in parish of Rerrik formerly belonging to Col. James Douglas brother to the Marquess of Queensberry, held of the Crown; - also the mill of Kirkcormak with the multures from the lands of Laigh Arkland and the Kirklands of Kirkcormak and fishings there belonging to Jean and Ann McClellanes daughters and heirs portioners of Archibald McClellane of Kirkland of Kirkcormack, held of Thomas McQuhen of Castill; - also the 2 merkland of Broach in parish of Kirkdale and 20/- land of Muirfad, 4½ merklands of Cuill, 4½ merkland of Blair, 7 merkland of Balhassie 4 merklands of Burnis, the 36/8d. lands of Spittell belonging to the late William McGuffok of Rusco including a croft called Clynes belonging to the late William Muir of Cassincarrie; - a croft called Closscroft in parish of Kirkcormak and another croft in Rerrik, the Lanecroft or Greenlanecroft of Lynkyns formerly belonging to Robert McClellane of Lynkyns:- all of which are now resigned by the said John McCulloch for new infeftment. The charter states at length how the lands came to the McCullochs and probably account for the family debts made by his grandfather |
