Renunciation by Alexander McDowell of Logane mentioning contract dated at Elrig 28 May 1613 between John Kennedy of Creichane and the deceast John McDowell of Logane "My Father" whereby Kennedy for 11,000 merks disponed with consent of James Glover notary and Hew Kennedy of Chapell to the said late John McDowell and Jean Crauford spouses, the 5 merkland of Creichane redeemable by the heirs male of the said John McDowell and Grizzel Vaus spouses from the said Jean Crauford liferenter thereof for 6,000 merks to be paid to Patrick McDowell, - now notwithstanding the saidcontract and preferring that Patrick should enjoy those lands in heritage rather than be paid 6,000 merks, Alexander renounces them in favour of the said Patrick McDowell |
