Title |
Copy retour of Robert Mure of Lagmullin as heir to his father the deceast Ninian Mure of Lagmullin, who died in July last, in the 5 merklands of Lagmullin alias Mylne Isle in parish of Anwith, held of the Crown by ward and relief; and in the 5 merklands of Barkarrow in parish of Kirkanders held of the Crown in albe ferme, with the lands of Meikle Dalbetie in warrandice held of John Reddik of Dalbatie and his heirs paying 1d. Scots, viz:- the 4 merklands of Meikle Dalbetie, 20/- lands of Auchnynucke, ½ merkland of Glenwelsche and 2 merklands of Chapelltown; also in the 2 merklands of Little Rechorne in parish of Urr held of the Crown albe ferme, the 20/- lands of Over Creochs in parish of Girtun, the one merkland of Dalmalin and one merkland of Quhytecroft also in Girtun, held of John Lennox of Calie; - Of the 5 merkland of Lagmallin half was in the hands of the Crown for non entry and the other half in the hands of Janet Dalzell relict of said Ninian Mure, along with Barharrow, Little Richorne, Creochs and Quhytecroft. Meikle Dalbetie was in the hands of John Reddik of Dalbetie for non entry and Dalmalin in the hands of John Lennox of Cabe for same reason. The Inquest consisted of Thomas McClellane of Barmagachane, William McClellane his son, Thomas McClellane of Balmangane, Robert Maxwell of Culnotrie, Roger Gordon of Holm, William McClellane of Senwick, Robert Aschennan of Tulquha, Andrew Arnot of Barcapill, George Muirheid of Littletoun, John Moresoun of Edinghame, Edward Moresoun, his son, Robert Lindesay, son of James Lindesay of Wauchop, James McGhie, tutor of Balmaghie, Mr. Wm. McGhie, his son, William Fullartoun, burgess of Kirkcudbright and Andrew Lindesay, son of James Lindsay of Glensocken |
