Title |
Assignation and disposition by Hew Kennedy of Garriehorne to Gilbert Kennedy of Dunein of his fourth part of the following contract - contract between John, Earl of Cassillis on the one part, and Mr. John Chalmer of Sandiefuird, the said Hew Kennedy, the late Gilbert Fergusson of Dalduff and Gilbert Ross of Myllanderdaill on the other part, whereby the Earl sold to them all the lands and mills of the barony of Glenluce, vis:- £4 lands of Balnab, £4 lands of Craig and Arehemen, two merkland of Glennearne, 4 merkland of Balneill, 40/- land of Barluir, 4 merkland of Kilpedder, 40/- land of Craigbirrenoct, 40/- land of Poltiding, 4 merkland of Glenquhillie, Glenkittin, Merklauch and Markdow, 2 merkland of Multoneiss, 2 merkland of Darnemow, 20/- land of Dowgay possessed by the sheriff of Wigtoun and his brother, 10/- lands of Dowgay, possessed by Thomas Bailzie, the merkland of Barlockhart, possessed by Thomas Kennedy of Synnones, the 23/4 land of Cassingynzells and Darnegomnor, 2 merkland of Glensorie, 20/- land of Glenchalmers, 2½ merkland of Dergoillis occupied by Andro Ahannay, 16/8 land of Dergoillis, occupied by William Bailzie, 4 merkland of Little Dungagrit, 2 merkland of Craiginreoche, 2 merkland of Kilquhirne, 40/- land of Blairdirrie, 5 merkland of Annabagleish, 2 merkland of Garvellane, 20/- land of Dumpaill, 20/- land of Wod of Dirwardis, 40/- land of Auchmalg, the miln of Kilchryst, 20/- land of Quhytoruik and Croftlong, 20/- land of Ganoch, 8½ merkland of Nether Torris, Middle Torris and Over Torris and the 3 merkland of Culoroy:- Together with the following lands called ferme lands vis:- 7 merkland of Over and Nether Galdinoche and its mill, 20/- lands of Balcaill, 5 merklands of Meikle Dunragit, 3 merkland of Culquhossane, 3 merklands of Gillespie and Craignargit, 30/- land of Stallactmun - all in the barony of Glenluce; and also the heritable office of Bailie of the Barony with the fees that pertained to that office; but subject to a wadset for 12,000 merks over Craig, Arehennan, Balmeill and Galdinoch with its corn mill, in favour of Thomas Hay, elder of Park and Alexander Hay his son |
