Kingarth (Ascog) Free Church was the official name of a congregation known locally as Ascog. A chapel of ease under Kingarth parish church, erected in 1842-3, opened as a Free Church immediately at the Disruption. It passed to the United Free Church as Kingarth and to the Church of Scotland as Ascog. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dunoon and the synod of Argyll. |
