Perth, Original Secession Congregation was an Antiburgher church formed as an offshoot of Perth North (Antiburgher). At the union with the Burgher Synod in 1820 a protesting minority left and formed a separate congregation, with a place of worship in South Street. In 1827 it adhered to the Original Secession Synod and remained outwith the union with the Free Church in 1852. It continued as a United Original Secession church, adhered to the Church of Scotland in 1956 as Perth St Luke's and was dissolved in 1958. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Perth and the synod of Perth and Stirling. |
