Pollokshields West Church, Glasgow, developed as a Free Church in response to the feuing out of the area by the Stirling-Maxwell estate in the 1870s. The church, in Shields Road at Nithsdale Road, was completed in 1878. The congregation became successively part of the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, and terminated in 1963 on uniting with Trinity Pollokshields as Pollokshields Glencairn. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
