Pollokshields Kenmure Church, Glasgow, originated with a United Presbyterian congregation in 1879. Its church, at the intersection of Leslie Street and Harriet Street, was dedicated in 1883, first as Maxwell United Presbyterian, then as Pollokshields Maxwell United Free, and then (after 1902) as Pollokshields East United Free. It terminated in 1965 on uniting with Albert Drive as Pollokshields Kenmure. This congregation continued to worship in the former Pollokshields East building, until it was itself terminated in 1977 on uniting with Pollokshields Titwood and Pollokshields Glencairn as Pollokshields. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
