Augustine Church, Glasgow, began as a Free Church mission hall congregation in Hutchesontown, which built a church in Rutherglen Road at Moffat Street in 1872 and was then sanctioned as Augustine Free Church. It joined the United Free Church in 1900 and the Church of Scotland in 1929, and terminated in 1947 on uniting with Buchanan Memorial as Augustine Buchanan. The church building continued in use. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
