Strachur and Strathlachlan Free Church was formed at the Disruption. A minister was settled in 1844, although the church and manse were not completed until ten years later. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Strachur and Strathlachlan West, which united with Strachur and Strathlachlan East as Strachur and Strathlachlan in 1937. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dunoon and the synod of Argyll. |
