After the Disruption of 1843 regular services were held in Cambusbarron and it was recognised as a station in 1860. The charge was not sanctioned until 1877 and a decline in membership meant that it was reduced to a preaching station again in 1896. In 1900 the Free Church combined with the United Presbyterian Church to become the United Free Church. Cambusbarron was again raised to full status in 1906 and a new church was opened in 1910. The church rejoined the Church of Scotland along with most of the United Free Church in 1929 as part of the Presbytery of Stirling and Dunblane (later the Presbytery of Stirling). The Bruce Memorial was added to the name in 1976. |
